Fulfilling the HON 3000 Service-Learning Requirement
HON 3000 is required for students who wish to graduate with University Honors. It is offered for S and U grades only. Students will not receive degree credit.
To fulfill this requirement:
- HON 3000 must be selected in conjunction with a designated co-requisite (3 credit minimum). For example, if you choose to register for one of the approved English 3010 sections, you will also register for HON 3000 which is a 0 credit course. Visit http://www.honors.wayne.edu/slcourses.php for a list of available, approved co-requisites.
- HON 3000 requires permission to register. All students registered in one of the courses listed on http://www.honors.wayne.edu/slcourses.php will receive notice during the first two weeks of the school year that the block has been lifted. At that point they should register for HON 3000.
- Students may also propose alternate service-learning opportunities as an Honors Option. Visit http://honors.wayne.edu/forms.php to download the Honors Option form. Approval by CommunityEngagement@Wayne is required prior to registration.
