The Honors Learning Community offers you an environment that strengthens your overall academic and social experience at Wayne State.
In the Honors LC you might share living space in the residence halls with other Honors students, many of whom are enrolled in the same courses - pursuing the same or a similar major - and who share similar career goals. You also may be a commuting student who invests time in campus experiences.
You'll benefit academically from having easy access to course study partners and from group exploration of common career interests and goals. You’ll interact socially with a group of students who possess a broad range of interests.
While the Honors LC is primarily for entering freshmen, upperclassmen are invited to participate. In addition to informal student interactions, you're offered a series of more structured activities that support academic success and social-cultural entertainment.
Underpinning the fulfillment of the academic and social goals of the Honors LC is:
- informal out-of-classroom interaction with WSU faculty and staff
- greater interaction with professionals from Detroit and the metropolitan area.
